Registrations open for key events expo

Organisers of conferences, incentives, functions and other corporate events can now register to experience Convene 2012 at the new Viaduct Events Centre on May 1.

Now in its seventh year, Convene 2012 promises innovation, inspiration and excitement for professional event organisers from Auckland, other parts of New Zealand and Australia who wish to engage with event suppliers from Northland to Waikato.

The Auckland Convention Bureau is again coordinating three familiarisation experiences on the day prior to the expo, where attendees have the choice to either see first hand a selection of Auckland’s most iconic venues, ferry to the jewel of Auckland’s crown that is Waiheke Island, or embrace their adventurous side with some adrenalin-laced action.

A buffet breakfast will kick off the day, with this years’ discussion asking the question, ‘What does the future hold for the meetings and incentives industry?’

The selection of expert panellists is underway and will be announced in the near future.

Convene 2012 will again offer informative educational seminars, offering event organisers innovative ideas on how to maximise sources so events achieve the desired ‘wow factor’.

Interactive entertainment will be taking place to really activate attendees’ senses.

Convene exhibitors include venues, hotels, corporate retreats, convention centres, wineries, activity operators, cruising companies, caterers, team building companies, transport operators, theming companies and more.

Press Release - November 29 2011

Convene 2012 sells steadily

Companies intending to exhibit at Convene 2012 are being urged to register their interest before Christmas as stands continue to sell steadily.

Exhibition manager Tess Mason says Convene, being held at the Viaduct Events Centre, Auckland on May 1 2012 , is attracting an exciting mix of new and previous exhibitors.

‘We have had a good reaction to our move to the Viaduct Events Centre – a venue that gives us the ability to put all the Convene exhibition stands on one level. We are sure a lot of event industry buyers will be keen to see the venue in operation, which will in turn have a positive spin-off for our exhibitors.’

Mason says next year’s exhibition has attracted more interest than usual from operators around the Auckland Airport community, illustrating an increased emphasis on the meetings industry in the area.

Gift suppliers, technology companies, cruise operators and theme companies have all been quick to book stands, along with accommodation providers and major venues.

Convene showcases function, meeting and event facilities in the greater Auckland area (from Northland to Waikato) to buyers from New Zealand and Australia. The exhibition allows anyone who organises corporate events (from the company Christmas party to a major conference) to source a diverse range of products under one roof on one day.

Mason says intending exhibitors are welcome to express interest and hold a stand, for confirmation in January.

‘That way we can plan accordingly and reserve a stand for any companies who are interested in taking part in the event.’

Anyone interested in viewing exhibitors who have already confirmed can view the list at http://www.convenexpo.co.nz/online/exhibitors-2012

Buyer registration will open early next year.

Convene – activate your senses

Exhibitors and buyers alike are being invited to ‘activate their senses’ at Convene 2012. Acknowledged as a leading showcase for the events industry, Convene offers a face to face environment for event suppliers and organisers to achieve their business outcomes.

Being held on May 1 next year, Convene has a fresh new venue, the Viaduct Events Centre. Exhibition manager Tess Mason says 50 companies have already booked an exhibition stand to take part in Convene 2012 and interest is building now that the focus of the events industry is on next year and beyond.

‘Organisers of corporate events tell us Convene has become a must attend event for them to source event products and services. Buyers value the face to face interaction an exhibition of this kind provides for them. Because function and meeting planners are using the event to source anything from venues to caterers, activities to speakers and more, suppliers who are not at Convene could be putting themselves at a disadvantage.’
